SOMERVILLE – The Tennessee Department of Correction’s “Operation Clean Up” continued yesterday at the Somerville Probation Parole field office.  Officers and Special Agents with TDOC, along with officers from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Somerville Police Department and United States Marshal Service conducted intensive vehicle searches in the parking lot of the field office.  Yesterday’s operation resulted in the search of 46 vehicles.

“TDOC Community Supervision offices across the state are completing parking lot sweeps in an effort to ensure offenders are in compliance.  Each sweep we have agency partners and local law enforcement to help us complete the tasks and make our communities safer.” said Joe Williams, Correctional Administrator West Region Community Supervision.

Yesterday’s operation resulted in 3 arrests and the issuance of 8 citations.  This operation illustrates TDOC’s commitment to Tennessee communities by ensuring offenders on supervision in west Tennessee are held accountable for their actions.

TDOC’s Probation Parole Officers, TDOC Strike Force, K-9 Units, and Correctional Emergency Response Team (CERT) Officers from the Riverbend Maximum Security Prison led the operation.
