HENNING - The Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) is pleased to announce that one of the department’s West Tennessee facilities has earned reaccreditation by the American Correctional Association (ACA).  During the audit, which was held in the fall, West Tennessee State Penitentiary (WTSP) received a high score of 100% on the mandatory standards and 99.31% on the non-mandatory standards.

According to Warden Trinity Minter (pictured right) this audit was even more special since it was the first audit since the addition of a Women’s Therapeutic Residential Center (WTRC). She states, “Having two distinct facilities on one property is not without its challenges but all of that pales in comparison to the lives that are being changed here and the positive ripples that will be felt in communities across Tennessee.”  Warden Jonathan Lebo (pictured below) goes on to add, “I am incredibly proud of the staff and employees at WTRC/WTSP. It’s their hard work that is reflected in those high scores.”

TDOC Commissioner Tony Parker adds, “The vision of this department is to be recognized as the best correctional agency in the nation.  Achieving ACA reaccreditation speaks to the professionalism of the team at WTSP.”
