Johnson City Community Resource Center Holding Resource Expo

JOHNSON CITY – In an effort to assist the offender population of the Tri-Cities, the Johnson City Day Reporting and Community Resource Center (DRC/CRC) will be holding a Career and Resource Expo. Employers and representatives from agencies around the Tri-Cities area, including the American Job Center, Goodwill of Tenneva, Onin Staffing, Northeast State Technical Community College and People Ready will be present to help individuals with a criminal record network with agencies and organizations that can provide information and assistance for a variety of resources including education, employment, healthcare and transportation.

“Finding and securing a job is just one of many incredible hurdles offenders and those with criminal records face,” says Vince Runion, Employment Specialist at the DRC/CRC.  “Without stable employment or housing or medical services, they are at risk of returning to criminal activity. By helping to connect them with the agencies that can provide those resources, we’re helping them become productive citizens and making Tri-Cities’ communities safer.”

Offenders currently serving on probation or parole, as well as ex-felons, are encouraged to attend the event.
