Automotive Supplier to Invest $5 Million, Create 114 New Jobs at Gallatin Plant

NASHVILLE — Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty today joined with Sumner County officials in congratulating ABC Group Fuel Systems on their decision to expand their current facility in Gallatin, Tenn. The expansion represents a $5 million investment by the company and will create 114 new jobs. ABC Group Fuel Systems is a Tier 1 manufacturer of plastic fuel tank systems and urea systems for automotive and non-automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEM).

“The Jobs4TN strategy focuses on existing Tennessee businesses for growth, and I’m pleased ABC Group Fuel Systems will expand and continue its success in Gallatin,” Haslam said.

"We appreciate the confidence in the state's workforce shown by Marius Sipos and the management team at ABC Group Fuel Systems," Hagerty said. "We appreciate their commitment. A major focus of the Jobs4TN plan is on the existing Tennessee industries that provide a foundation for our state's economy."

ABC Group Fuel System is a subsidiary of ABC Group of Companies which is headquartered in Toronto, Canada. The company is North America’s leading plastic automotive parts supplier and has three facilities in Gallatin, Tennessee - ABC Technologies, ABC Group Fuel Systems and Salga Plastics. The company manufactures some 1.1 million multi-layer plastic fuel tank assemblies each year.

“This investment represents the eighth expansion by ABC Group of Companies in Middle Tennessee,” Marius Sipos, Vice President, Fuel Systems of ABC Fuel Systems, said. “Our long history in the area is a clear result of the support we’ve received from the state and the citizens of Tennessee.”

“The ABC Group has been doing business in Gallatin for a quarter of a century now, and all three of their operations here are preferred employers and outstanding corporate citizens,” Gallatin Mayor Jo Ann Graves said. “To see a company that has grown so steadily in the highly competitive international automotive market continue to invest in our community time and time again makes a tremendous statement about our city’s pro-business leadership, our emphasis on nurturing relationships with our existing industries, and perhaps most of all, our outstanding workforce that is the lifeblood of any business’s success.”

“We have visited the ABC corporate offices in Toronto and hosted corporate leadership here over the past few years that have been pretty lean in the automotive market,” Gallatin EDA Executive Director Clay Walker said. “We have done whatever we could do – and, granted, sometimes it hasn’t been much – but we have established a great partnership with ABC and the company has survived and is now flourishing again. And we couldn’t be happier that its leadership continues to believe in our partnership and in investing in our city.”

ABC Group began in 1974 and employs approximately 4,000 employees in manufacturing facilities in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Spain and Germany, as well as offices in Japan, Korea and China. The company established it’s presence in Gallatin in 1987 and currently employees 303 Tennesseans.

The 114 new jobs are a combination of full-time production and maintenance positions. Interested applicants should contact Janice Fish-Stewart, Human Resources Manager, at 615-451-6971.
