Haslam Reauthorizes Reward in Lorenzen Wright Homicide

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam today announced the state will re-issue a $5,000 reward and match for information leading to the apprehension, arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the homicide of Lorenzen Wright.

“In addition to the recent discovery of the murder weapon, we believe someone has information that could help solve this case,” Haslam said. “We ask anyone with knowledge of the case to come forward to help bring to justice whoever is responsible for this crime.”

Wright’s body was discovered on July 28, 2010, in southeast Shelby County. He played college basketball at the University of Memphis and was a former NBA player with the Memphis Grizzlies.

The state will match up to an additional $5,000 if any other organization offers a reward.

Shelby County District Attorney General Amy Weirich requested that the reward from the governor be re-issued. Haslam first issued the reward on September 19, 2011, but no offender had been apprehended within the statutory five-year timeline.
