Culture of Health Grand Rounds

Health Grand Rounds Title Pic

Are you ready to address health inequities in YOUR community? This course is for you! Just like grand rounds of the old days, we use real people and real-life cases to discuss complex topics.

What You'll Learn

Throughout nine sessions, you'll discover the surprising challenge of smoke-free housing policies, what stops millions of Americans from spending their finals years at home, and why living on the wrong side of the street can determine whether you go to college or not. More importantly, you'll learn how to leverage your expertise in health to be part of the solution.

Would you vote to expand short term rentals in your city, or limit their access? Would you advise a patient to opt for home health or a skilled nursing facility? Should more trails and beaches be dog-friendly? In this course, you'll hear from residents of public housing, park rangers, and special education teachers who have real-world experience and perspective. Be prepared to engage in mock votes and voice your opinion on issues that matter!

In addition, you'll learn who makes the policies for a range of issues in the State of Tennessee, so the next time you want to bring up an issue, you'll know whether to take it to the City Council meeting or the County Commissioner's office.

The deadline to apply is February 15, 2023.

Participation is limited. Applicants will be notified of acceptance by February 28.
