MEDIA ADVISORY: Governor Bill Haslam, Commissioner Dreyzehner to Receive Annual Flu Vaccinations
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and Health Commissioner John Dreyzehner, MD, MPH urge Tennesseans to get their annual flu shot now. Governor Haslam and Commissioner Dreyzehner will get their seasonal flu vaccinations Monday, October 2 at the Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department in Jackson.
Immunization against the flu protects not only the person receiving the vaccine but also his or her family, friends and coworkers. Flu vaccine is available at many locations in Tennessee including county health departments, medical clinics and pharmacies. The Tennessee Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention urge annual flu vaccination for everyone over six months of age.
