NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee National Guard hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the addition of a Women’s History Wall in the lobby of Nashville’s Joint Force Headquarters on March 28. The new memorial proudly honors the many significant achievements women have made in the Tennessee National Guard, and the prominent women who paved the way for generations of Soldiers and Airmen who followed.

SMYRNA, Tenn. – Nearly 150 Soldiers from the Tennessee National Guard’s 251st Military Police Company are returning home, Thursday, March 21, after a nearly year-long deployment overseas. They are scheduled to fly into Smyrna’s Volunteer Training Site in two groups at approximately 2:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., where they will be greeted by friends, family, and fellow Soldiers awaiting their return.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee’s Assistant Adjutant General-Army, Steven Turner, was promoted to the rank of brigadier general during a ceremony at the Tennessee National Guard’s Joint Forces Headquarters in Nashville, March 3, at 1 p.m.

WATERTOWN, Tenn. – More than 25 members of the Tennessee National Guard’s 230th Engineer Battalion completed a 12-hour relay ruck march in Watertown, Feb. 3. The event was part of the ‘Black Toe Run,’ an annual trail running event hosted by Hardwin Adventures.

TULLAHOMA, Tenn. – For the first time ever, the .50-caliber Browning machine gun was fired on a Tennessee National Guard weapons range, Nov. 15, at Tullahoma’s Volunteer Training Site. Col. Randal J. Gordon, Arnold Air Force Base Commander, and Lt. Col. Thomas J. Foley, Tennessee National Guard Deputy Training and Operations Officer, fired the first rounds at the ceremony marking the inaugural firing of the weapon in Tennessee.
