Nashville, TN— Today, the Tennessee Department of Education released statewide average 3rd grade and 4th grade results for the ELA portion of the spring 2024 Tennessee Comprehensive Academic Program (TCAP) assessment. Third grade student scores remained steady as 4th grade student scores showed significant improvement, thanks to the nation-leading, comprehensive statewide literacy strategy for Tennessee public schools.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Drivers traveling on SR 153 in Hamilton County should be aware of upcoming road construction activities that will have an impact on traffic. Beginning Friday, June 14, 2024, at 9:00 pm ET and continuing until 6:00 am ET on Monday, June 17, 2024, Tennessee Valley Authority contract crews will close the SR 153 North bridge over the Chickamauga Dam for repairs.

TENNESSEE--- The Department of Safety and Homeland Security is offering free 15-inch cable locks that secure most shotguns, rifles, pistols, and revolvers. The cable lock works by running through the barrel or action of the firearm preventing it from being fired. The rubber coating on the cable helps to protect the firearm. The cable lock has a secure keyed deadbolt locking mechanism with a 4-pin cylinder. To date, 69,500 gunlocks have been distributed.

The rate is based on a ceiling of 4 percent over the weekly average prime loan rate of 8.50 percent as published by the Federal Reserve on June 10, 2024.
