Nashville, Tenn. — The Official 2006 Tennessee Transportation Map is now available to assist travelers in their planning efforts.

The free map is available at welcome centers and rest stops across the state. It is also available online at the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) web site located at http://www.tdot.state.tn.us/MapOrder/maporder.htm

“The map is a service TDOT is pleased to provide to the public each year,” said Judy Steele, Director of TDOT’s Community Relations Division. “This year we have changed the map slightly, enlarging it by approximately 20%, making it easier to read.”

According to Steele, anyone wanting a pre-printed map can also order up to five free maps from TDOT online or by mailing a written request to:

Tennessee Department of Transportation
Map Sales Office
505 Deaderick Street
James K. Polk Building, Suite 300
Nashville, Tennessee 37243-0345

Organizations and schools can order up to one hundred maps for their use.

The Official 2006 Tennessee Transportation Map is a joint effort between TDOT and the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development.
