TWRC to Meet in Dyersburg

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission will hold its January meeting on Wednesday and Thursday, January 17 and 18 at the Lannom Conference Center in Dyersburg, Tennessee.


Among the topics to be considered at the meeting are Agency plans to import elk from Elk Island National Park, Alberta, Canada, and Land Between the Lakes.  Hatchery improvement progress since 1999 will be reviewed as well as plans to increase fish production in the future.
The current and future plans for distributing and promoting Tennessee’s Wild Side, the agency television program, to a wider viewing audience will be discussed.
Nat Johnson, the TWRA’s newly appointed Assistant Director, will present information regarding the upcoming state legislative session.
The TWRC meeting begins at 1:00 p.m. on January 17 and will continue beginning at 9:00 a.m. on January 18.  The public is invited to attend.
