Death Row Inmate Ricky Thompson

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Death row inmate Ricky Thompson was pronounced dead at Centennial Medical Center on October 17, 2007, at approximately 10:50 p.m. of apparent natural causes. He was 57 years old.

Thompson had been on death row since May, 1992 following his conviction of first degree murder in McMinn County. He was also convicted of arson and aggravated assault.

There are 94 men and two women under a sentence of death in Tennessee.
