TWRA Distributes New Fishing Guide

When the semi-trailer trucks start backing into the loading docks of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency regional and Nashville Offices, delivering the new Tennessee Fishing Guides, the race is on. The 450,000 copies require three fully loaded tractor-trailers to haul them from the printer in Utah to the TWRA offices across Tennessee in Jackson, Nashville, Crossville, and Morristown. From that point on, the majority of the distribution duties are handled by wildlife officers. The largest license agents get hand-delivered guides just in time for the new fishing regulations to go into effect on March 1.

“The new fishing guide features a whole section dedicated to bank fishing this year,” stated Mike Bramlett, TWRA Fisheries Biologist. “This information has been available on our Web site, but we thought it would provide a great service to our anglers to print this resource in the guide this year. Tennessee has plenty of places to fish from the bank. The information is listed by county and is very easy to navigate.”
Another new addition is the updated reservoir section. Each reservoir is listed separately with all the information, including creel limits, relating to that body of water.
The new guide was redesigned by TWRA Graphic Artist, Raleigh Holtam (photo below). His creative use of color and new tables has made this guide much more user friendly.
New combination hunting/fishing licenses (Type 001) went on sale March 1. TWRA encourages anglers to pick up a new fishing guide as they visit their license agent in the next few weeks.
