Tennessee Funeral Establishments Commended for Filing Death Certificates Early
The Tennessee Department of Health, Office of Vital Records has awarded Certificates of Superior Performance to the top 10 percent of Tennessee funeral establishments for death certificate timeliness in 2006.
“The death certificate is a critical document for getting families back into the business of life,” said State Registrar Sharon M. Leinbach. “Without it, a myriad of issues such as life insurance, property transfer and closing accounts are simply left undone and families suffer. However, these 10 percent of Tennessee funeral establishments showed their true concern for families by making sure that death certificates were filed and in the hands of the family.”
Those establishments included among the top 10 percent for death certificate timeliness in Tennessee are:
