Panel Session Scheduled For Matchmaking Event June 7

NASHVILLE - The Tennessee Business Matchmaking event, scheduled for June 7 in Franklin, will offer a morning panel session, Insights into Purchasing: the Buyer’s Perspective, at 9 a.m. to provide an inside look at procurement in large public ad, in Franklin.

Panelists include:

  • Almetta Bonds, supplier diversity coordinator, Nashville Electric Service
  • Shannon Happel, strategic sourcing specialist, CIGNA Government Services
  • Lloyd Hinkle, valley spend/small business, ADVATECH
  • Ray Register, director of contracts administration, Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation

Michael Carter, president and CEO of Athena of Nashville Inc. and chair of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce Small Business Council, will moderate the panel discussion.

Hosted by the Williamson County-Franklin Chamber of Commerce, the event provides small businesses or sellers 15-minute, one-on-one business appointments scheduled with procurement representatives or buyers from large corporations and government entities that have actual contract opportunities.

The seller registration fee is $35 and the late registration fee, which begins on May 29, is $50. There is no fee for buyers to participate. To date, there are 32 buyers registered for the event, including:

Since 2006, the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development has hosted five Business Matchmaking events in the Tri-Cities, Memphis, Nashville, Knoxville and Jackson, where over 2,815 one-on-one business appointments were held between 703 small businesses and 228 procurement officials.

Sponsored regionally by the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority and the Williamson County Mayor’s Office, the Middle Tennessee Business Matchmaking host chamber is the Williamson County-Franklin Chamber of Commerce and the regional partner is the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce.
