Governor Awards Grant to Southwest Human Resource Agency
NASHVILLE – Governor Phil Bredesen and Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development Commissioner James Neeley have awarded $54,940 to the Southwest Human Resource Agency for an additional instructor for Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) training.
The money is from statewide funding and will be used to hire an additional teacher for LPN training for classes at the Tennessee Technology Center-Crump.
“I am pleased to award this grant to the Southwest Human Resource Agency to assist in training nurses,” said Governor Bredesen. “These funds will help meet the shortage of LPNs in the area and will benefit healthcare employers in Hardin County.”
“I am proud to award this grant money to enhance training opportunities for nursing,” said Commissioner Neeley. “Healthcare is a demand occupation with shortages across the state and the nation.”
