NASHVILLE - Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development Commissioner James Neeley announced that Omni Tech in Dyersburg was chosen to receive the SHARP (Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program) award.

“Omni Tech is adding the SHARP award to their achievements in workplace safety,” said James Neeley, commissioner for the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development. “Last month we were honored to award Omni Tech the Governor’s Award of Excellence for Workplace Safety at the annual TOSHA Safety and Health Congress in Nashville.”

The SHARP award, designed for employers with fewer than 250 workers in high-hazard industrial classifications, is one of the state’s highest honors for workplace safety and health. The main incentive for participation in the SHARP award program is the desire by employers to promote a safe and healthy workplace. The program also allows employers to be removed from programmed compliance inspection lists for a period of 12 months.

Omni Tech, located in Dyersburg, employs 24 people. The company manufactures injection molded plastic products, including parts for medical testing, ice scrapers, garden hose sleeves, tarp clamps, and more. The company was established in 1972.
