MEDIA ADVISORY: Tennessee Highway Patrol Officers Teach Teens About Safe Driving

NASHVILLE  --- The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be on hand at the Dickson County High School football game, Friday October 31, 2008, to promote teen driver safety. Captain Chip Miller and Special Program Lieutenant Tony Barham will use THP’s rollover simulator to demonstrate first-hand the potential deadly results of failing to use safety restraints.

In 2007, 166 teenagers were killed in Tennessee in motor vehicle crashes.   According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, car crashes are the leading cause of fatalities among teens in the United States.
