Shelby County Driver Service Center Moving To New Midtown Location

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Department of Safety (TDOS) is opening a new Driver Service Center in Memphis, Tennessee, and closing the Midtown facility currently located at 2714 Union Avenue Extended. The Midtown Service Center will be closed on Friday, December 12, 2008. The new Midtown facility, located at 3040 Walnut Grove Road, Memphis, Tennessee, is a larger building that will allow us to serve our customers more efficiently. 

The new center will open for business on Monday, December 15, 2008, at 8:00 a.m.  Hours of business will continue to be Monday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Tuesday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Customers may also utilize the two other full-service Driver Service Centers in Memphis, or the facility in Millington, Tennessee.
 
South Memphis

Directions from I-240:
  • Take I-240 West toward Jackson, MS, to Exit 20 (Getwell Rd).
  • Turn left onto Getwell Road.
  • Take Getwell Road approximately 4.0 miles and then turn right onto Shelby Drive.
  • The service center is about a mile down on the right after the intersection of Tchulahoma Road and Shelby Drive.
 
East Memphis -

Tuesday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
 
Directions from I-40:
  • Take I-40 East toward Nashville to Exit 12 (Sycamore View).
  • Turn left onto Sycamore View.
  • Take Sycamore View to Summer Avenue (Hwy 70) and turn right.
  • The driver service center is 1 1/2 miles down on the left.
 
Millington

Tuesday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
 
Directions from Highway 51:
  • Take Hwy 51 (Thomas St.) north to Millington.
  • Stay on Hwy 51 going through Millington. You will go past Wal-Mart which is on left.
  • Second street past Wal-Mart turn left onto West Union Road.
  • The driver service center is on the left.
