New Sevier County Driver Service Center to Open

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Department of Safety (TDOS) is opening a new Driver Service Center in Sevierville, Tennessee, and closing the one currently located at 980 Eastgate Road. The new facility will be located at 1220 Graduate Drive, Sevierville, Tennessee.

The current Sevier County Driver Service Center will be closed on Thursday, December 18, 2008, and Friday, December 19, 2008. The move gives TDOS the opportunity to move into a larger space that will allow us to serve our customers more efficiently.
 
The new center will open for business on Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at 7:00 a.m. (EST).  Hours of business will continue to be Tuesday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Customers may also utilize the full-service Driver Service Centers in Blount and Knox counties. The Blount County Service Center is located at 318 Home Avenue, Maryville, Tennessee.
 
Directions to the Blount County Service Center
 
From Townsend:
·          Travel Highway US 321/Lamar Alexander Parkway to Maryville.
·          Turn right at stop light onto Home Avenue.
·          Proceed for approximately 4/10 of a mile and the Driver Service Center will be on a slight hill on the right.
 
From Alcoa:
·          Travel Alcoa Highway US 129 into Maryville.
·          Turn left onto Foch Street. Travel Foch Street till it ends into Home Avenue.
·          Turn Left onto Home Ave.
·          Proceed for approximately 4/10 of a mile and the Driver Service Center will be on the right.
 
There are also two full-service centers in Knox County. The closest Knox County facility is located at 7320 Region Lane, directly off Interstate 40 at Strawberry Plains in Knoxville and is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The other center, located at 207 Center Park Drive, in West Knoxville, is open Tuesday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
 
Customers only needing a duplicate license or to renew a driver license, can visit the County Clerk’s Offices in Jefferson County located at 214 West Main Street, Dandridge, Tennessee. There are also four County Clerk’s Offices in Knox County where customers can get duplicates or renewals. For more information on locations and hours of operation, or to see if you are eligible to renew your driver license online, visit the Department of Safety’s website at www.tn.gov/safety.
