Department of Education Announces Annual Technology Conference

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Department of Education today announce the 26th Annual Tennessee Education Technology Conference, designed specifically for school and district educational technology leaders and instructors.

“We are committed to integrated technology in the classroom, reaching students by any means necessary to increase learning capabilities,” said Education Commissioner Timothy Webb. “We’ve already begun the process with programs like the Electronic Learning Center with Apple iTunes U and web resources like Thinkfinity.”

Each year the conference offers opportunities for growth and development through training sessions, labs, workshops, interest sessions and peer networking. The goal is to encourage participants to integrate technology into the classroom lesson plans. The event will include a trade show with exhibits showcasing the newest technologies, related software and services of interest to the education technology market.

Location:                  The Nashville Convention Center, 601 Commerce Street, Nashville

Attendees:               School and technology professionals, including: K-12 classroom teachers, technology coordinators/directors, higher education professionals, K-12 schools and district administrators, technicians and network administrators, computer lab teachers, K-12 library media specialists, and professional development specialists.
