Hillcrest-West Admissions Suspension Lifted

Thursday, May 29, 2008 | 07:00pm

The Tennessee Department of Health announces that the suspension of admissions at Hillcrest-West has been lifted effective May 22, 2008.

The facility is a 194-bed licensed nursing home located at 6801 Middlebrook Pike in Knoxville. The Department confirmed the facility has returned to substantial compliance for state licensing purposes, and the deficient practices and conditions have been corrected as stated in the facility’s plan of correction, which was approved by federal and state authorities.

On May 8, 2008, the nursing home was ordered not to admit any new residents based on conditions found during an annual survey conducted April 28 through May 2. During the investigation, surveyors found violations of the following standards:  resident protection, administration, records and reporting and nursing services.
