Two New Fishing Records Confirmed by TWRA

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has confirmed a pair of state fishing records, one established in Anderson County at Bull Run Creek on Melton Reservoir and the other at Reelfoot Lake in Lake County.
 
Bill Davis of Knoxville, etched his name into the record book for the quillback carpsucker. The record fish weighed 2 lbs., 8.96 oz. and was 15 inches long. Davis caught the fish at 8:30 p.m. using on a crappie jig using a spinning reel with 10 lb. test line.
 
On Reelfoot Lake, Dyersburg residents Taylor Ricks and Nick Winston now share the record for the spotted gar. The fish was taken by archery as each fisherman shot the fish at the same time. The record fish weight 10 lbs., 8 oz. and came from the Starve Pond area.
