The Governor’s Highway Safety Office Reminds Rural Drivers Click It or Ticket
Tuesday, November 10, 2009 | 05:02am
NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Governor’s Highway Safety Office is partnering with law enforcement agencies across the state to remind motorists, especially in rural areas, to Click It or Ticket. A special high-visibility enforcement campaign will run from November 16 through the 22nd in 19 counties and will involve 52 law enforcement agencies.
Participating communities were chosen because of both a low seat belt usage among motorists and a high unbelted fatality rate. Rural areas pose a particular challenge in educating drivers about the importance of wearing a safety belt.
