Public Invited for State Capitol Tree Lighting

Special Guests from the North Pole to Join the Holiday Festivities
 
NASHVILLE – Governor Phil Bredesen and First Lady Andrea Conte invite the young and young at heart to join them as they host the lighting of the State Capitol Christmas tree at 5 p.m. CST on Monday, November 30.  This year’s holiday festivities will include a special appearance by two of Santa’s reindeer.  They will be on display beginning at 4 p.m. on the south side of the State Capitol roundabout (Charlotte Avenue side).
 
In the spirit of the holiday season, contributions of canned and non-perishable food items for Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee will also be accepted.
  
4 p.m. – 5 p.m. CST
The public is welcome to view the reindeer while enjoying refreshments and sounds of the season.  Little Kids Rock from Metro Nashville Public Schools will perform.
 
5 p.m. CST
Governor Bredesen and First Lady Conte will light the State Capitol Christmas tree on the south side of the State Capitol roundabout (Charlotte Avenue side). The first couple will be joined by the Music City Community Choir.
