Tennessee Forestry Commission to Meet

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Forestry Commission will meet Feb. 24 at 8:30 a.m. CST in the Bruer Building at Ellington Agricultural Center, located at 440 Hogan Road in Nashville, Tenn.

The commission will discuss recent survey activities on the topics of timber theft and consulting foresters in Tennessee. The commission will adjourn to make an annual report to the Tennessee General Assembly as required by state law. The commission is scheduled to appear before the House Conservation and Environment Committee at 10:30 a.m. and before the Senate Environment, Conservation and Tourism Committee at 11 a.m. at Legislative Plaza in downtown Nashville.

The meeting is open to the public. Individuals interested in addressing the commission should plan to arrive prior to the start of the meeting in order to be placed on the agenda.

The Tennessee Forestry Commission comprises seven members representing the public’s interests as it relates to forest resources in the state.
