Chattanooga Area Safari Club International Honors Ben Davis

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- Ben Davis, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency officer in Bradley County, received the Chattanooga Area Safari Club International's "Wildlife Officer of the Year" award. Davis received the award in a presentation the Chattanooga Choo Choo. 

Davis was commended for his work, including arresting and bringing to trial a repeated violator, Kurt Ellis. Ellis was charged with many wildlife violations, which has resulted in a lifetime revocation of his license.

An integral part of the TWRA Area 33 team, Davis was named 2007 Tennessee Wildlife Officer of the Year by the Southeastern Association of Fish and Wildlife Association.

The Chattanooga Area Safari Club represents more than 100 members in the area and has purchased six decoy deer, for Region III.  In addition, the chapter has more than halfway completed its $20,000 pledge to the elk restoration project headed by Steve Bennett.
