TDOC Inmate Homicide

Only, TN - The Department of Correction Internal Affairs Division is investigating the homicide of an inmate at the Turney Center Industrial Prison in Hickman County. Daniel Whalen, 32, was found stabbed to death outside a prison cell around 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
In 2006, Whalen began serving a 10-year prison sentence for two drug convictions out of Davidson County. It appears Whalen had been stabbed several times.
No arrest has been made. Several units at the institution are on lockdown while the investigation continues.
