Departing Commissioners Receive Acknowledgement for Service

NASHVILLE - Five persons were acknowledged for their service as members of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission during the last commission meeting. The TWRC serves as the governing body of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.

Scheduled to have their appointments end March 1 were R.B. “Buddy” Baird (Rogersville), Thomas “Bub” Edwards (Paris), Gary Kimsey (Sweetwater), Boyce Magli (Franklin), and Hugh “Skip” Simonton (Henning). Baird and Simonton completed their latest two-year appointments, while Edwards, Kimsey, and Magli all held six-year terms, joining the TWRC in 2003.
 
Kimsey was the TWRC chairman in 2008-09 while Edwards served in the role the previous year. Retiring TWRA Executive Director Gary Myers presented each of the departing commissioners with a plaque noting their service.
