Monogram Refrigeration Receives Governor's Safety Award

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development Commissioner James Neeley announced that Monogram Refrigeration in Selmer was chosen to receive the Governor’s Award of Excellence for Workplace Safety.

 

"Monogram Refrigeration has demonstrated strong commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace," said Jim Flanagan, Voluntary Protection Program Manager for the Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration, who presented the Governor’s Award of Excellence to the company today at the company’s facility located at 789 Peach Street in Selmer. “The evaluation criteria for this award are challenging, and this company has worked extremely hard to meet and exceed the standards the award requires.”

 

The Governor’s Safety Award honors Tennessee employers and employees who meet a required number of hours without workplace injuries serious enough to cause an employee to miss a day of work or restrict normal job activities. The number of hours required is based on the size of the company.

 

Monogram Refrigeration employs 302 associates in the manufacturing of household refrigerators and freezers. The facility has qualified for the Governor’s Award by working more than 830,000 hours without a lost time or restricted duty injury. The site’s injury-free record dates back to July 2007.
