TDOC Investigates Inmate Homicide

TIPTONVILLE - The Department of Correction is investigating the homicide of an inmate at the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville.  The preliminary investigation shows that inmate Maurice Teague, 27, was stabbed Friday, May 15 at approximately 7:40 p.m. inside his cell.  He was pronounced dead at Baptist Hospital in Union City.

Maurice Teague was serving a 5-year sentence for a Schedule II Cocaine conviction out of Carroll County in 2007.  The TDOC Internal Affairs Division is investigating.
