TWRA Working to Correct Quota Hunt Application Process

Wednesday, August 19, 2009 | 04:34am

NASHVILLE --- It became evident early this morning that the new first come first serve quota application process for fall turkey and deer hunts was encountering problems across the state at many license agents. One of the primary problems arose because of a conflict between the printed application county code numbers and the corresponding numbers within the Point of Sale (POS) system. Sales on the internet appear to be processing as they should.

TWRA is currently working to get this issue resolved. "We plan to work with all hunters who attempted to obtain a permit this morning to get them the permit they were applying for," said Ed Carter, TWRA Executive Director. “We realize that time and travel were invested in their application requests and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this technical problem has caused."

TWRA has posted the corrected instruction form which includes the proper county codes for the turkey quota hunts on the agency Web site and on the attached PDF below.
