New Crossville Driver Service Center to Open

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Department of Safety (TDOS) is opening a new Driver Service Center in Crossville, Tennessee, and closing the one currently located at 31 Daniel Drive. The new facility will be located at 136 Dooley Street in Crossville.

The current Cumberland County Driver Service Center will close on Monday, August 10, and Tuesday, August 11, 2009, and reopen for business at its new location on Wednesday, August 12, 2009; at 8:00 a.m. Normal hours of operation for the new facility remain Tuesday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. On the second Wednesday of each month, the facility opens one hour late due to a monthly staff meeting.
 
Customers may also utilize other nearby full-service Driver Service Centers in Putnam and Roane Counties. The Putnam County Driver Service Center is located at 4600 South Jefferson in Cookeville. The facility is open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Central Time)

From Interstate 40:
  • From I-40 going west toward Nashville, take Exit 287 and turn left at the end of the ramp.
  • Go south 2.8 miles. The driver service center will be on the left.
  • From I-40 going east toward Knoxville, take Exit 287 and turn right at the end of the ramp.
  • Go south 2.8 miles. The driver service center will be on the left.
The Roane County Driver Service Center is located at 1070 North Gateway Avenue in Rockwood. The facility is open Tuesday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Eastern Time)
 
Directions to the Roane County Driver Service Center, located at 1070 North Gateway Avenue in Rockwood, are:
  • From Interstate 40: Take Exit 347 Harriman/Rockwood. Turn left onto Highway 27 going south. Go 5 miles and the driver service center will be in the 2nd shopping center on the left.
  • From Highway 27 traveling north: Whenentering Rockwood, go to traffic light #8 and stay on Highway 27 going to the left. The driver service center will be on the right a quarter mile after the traffic light.
  • From Highway 27 traveling south: The driver service center is located 5 miles past the Interstate in the 2nd shopping center on the left.
Customers only needing a duplicate license or to renew their driver license can visit online at www.tn.gov/safety.
