Media Advisory: Cumberland County Driver Service Center Hosts Open House

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Department of Safety is hosting an Open House at its new Driver Service Center in Cumberland County, Wednesday, January 6, 2010, from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. Safety Commissioner Dave Mitchell and Deputy Commissioner Greta Dajani invite the public to come and visit the new, larger facility, which is located at 136 Dooley Street in Crossville, Tenn.

The Department of Safety relocated its Cumberland County Driver Service Center to its new location on August 12, 2009.  For directions to the Cumberland County Driver Service Center in Crossville, take I-40 to Exit 317. Go south on US Highway 127 (North Main Street) for approximately 3 miles into the Crossville business district through traffic light #8. You will go through the intersection with Highway 70N. Two blocks past traffic light #8, turn left onto Dooley Street. Go approximately 5/10th of a mile on Dooley Street past Dooley Court on your left and you will see Driver Service Center on your right.
 
The Tennessee Department of Safety’s mission is (www.TN.Gov/Safety) to ensure the safety and general welfare of the public. The department encompasses the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Office of Homeland Security and Driver License Services. General areas of responsibility include law enforcement, safety education, motorist services and terrorism prevention.
