Montgomery County Health Department Receives $2.1 Million in WIC Special Needs Funds
NASHVILLE − Tennessee Health Commissioner Susan R. Cooper, MSN, RN, will join other federal, state and local officials on Wednesday, October 13, to present $2,106,151 in special needs funding from the federal Women, Infants and Children program to the Montgomery County Health Department.
The funding will be used for renovations to the Montgomery County Health Department clinic in Clarksville to improve services to WIC clients. The Montgomery County WIC clinic is the largest rural WIC clinic in Tennessee. During the past year, this facility has served more than 10,400 unique patients.
The renovations will include construction of a 10,000 square foot addition to the health department facility. In addition to improving delivery of WIC services, the addition will allow better access to a variety of health department services by WIC clients.
