Media Advisory: Knoxville Driver Service Center Hosts Open House

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Department of Safety is hosting an Open House at its new Knoxville Driver Service Center in Knox County from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 21, 2010. Deputy Commissioner Greta Dajani and Driver Services Director Michael Hogan invite the public to the facility located at 430 Montbrook Lane, in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The Montbrook Lane Driver Service Center in Knoxville opened May 3, 2010. The full-service Knoxville Driver Service Center is open Tuesday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. except the second Wednesday of every month when the center opens one hour later due to a mandatory meeting.
 
The Tennessee Department of Safety’s (www.TN.Gov/Safety) mission is to ensure the safety and general welfare of the public. The department encompasses the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Office of Homeland Security and Driver License Services. General areas of responsibility include law enforcement, safety education, motorist services and terrorism prevention.
