TDOT to Host Informal Community Meeting on Wolf Creek Bridge Project

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Department of Transportation officials will share the latest details surrounding the closure and rehabilitation of the Wolf Creek Bridge in Cocke County on State Route 9/US 25/70 at a meeting on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. The meeting will include a brief presentation regarding the details of the project to rehabilitate and widen the historic bridge.
 
The bridge is currently classified as structurally deficient and will need to be carefully dismantled and reconstructed in order to preserve the historic appearance of the iconic bridge, which is eligible for the National Register of Historic places.
