NASHVILLE, – The Tennessee Board of Osteopathic Examination has suspended the license of Cody Davis, D.O. of Parsons, Tenn. The suspension of the osteopathic physician’s license was effective October 14, 2010. As a result of the summary suspension, Davis was immediately prohibited from practicing as a physician in the state.

Davis’s license was suspended for the following:

  • Engaging in the practice of medicine when mentally or physically unable to do so.

Davis has the opportunity to appear at informal hearing before the Board of Medical Examiners on October 21,2010, at 4 p.m. CT, in the Poplar Room at 227 French Landing Drive, Nashville, Tenn. At the hearing, the board will determine whether the public health, safety or welfare imperatively required emergency action and whether the physician’s license should remain suspended pending the outcome of a contested case proceeding in the matter. The hearing will be canceled if Davis declines participation.

Davis was originally licensed to practice as an osteopathic physician in Tennessee in 2005.
