McMinn County Health Department Receives $300,000 in Federal WIC Funds
ATHENS − Tennessee Health Commissioner Susan R. Cooper, MSN, RN, will join other state and local officials on Thursday, October 28th, to present $300,000 in federal funding from the United States Department of Agriculture for the Women, Infants and Children Special Supplemental Nutrition Program to the McMinn County Health Department.
The funding will be used for renovations to the McMinn County Health Department clinic in Athens to improve services to WIC clients. The McMinn County Health Department has provided services to nearly 1,300 WIC participants over the past year.
