Hancock County Health Department Receives $18,000 in Federal WIC Funds
SNEEDVILLE − Tennessee Health Commissioner Susan R. Cooper, MSN, RN, will join other state and local officials on Monday, November 1st, to present $18,000 in federal funding from the United States Department of Agriculture for the Women, Infants and Children Special Supplemental Nutrition Program to the Hancock County Health Department.
The funding will be used for renovations to the Hancock County Health Department in Sneedville to improve services to WIC clients. The Hancock County Health Department has provided services to more than 500 WIC participants over the past year, which resulted in almost $169,000 in vouchers redeemed in the county.
The renovations will include improvements to the front desk area to ensure client privacy and improve access to services by clinic patients.
