NASHVILLE – – Tennessee Department of Transportation contract crews will begin resurfacing a section of Hillsboro Road in Nashville on Thursday. The $866,533 project includes paving on Hillsboro Road from Harding Place to Bridalway Drive, which is just north of Old Hickory Boulevard. A center turn lane will also be installed at Kingsbury Drive.

The road work will be done during off-peak daytime hours, but could create delays south of the Green Hills area. Beginning tomorrow October 7, 2010, motorists should be alert for lane closures between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. daily until the project is complete. The entire project is estimated to be complete by the end of the October.

TDOT will use portable message boards to alert motorists of the lane closures. Flaggers will be on site in the work zone to provide traffic control as the work is being completed. TDOT asks drivers to use extreme caution, reduce their speed and be alert to changing traffic conditions in work zones across the state.
