Second Segment of Canada Goose Season Opens Oct. 9

NASHVILLE --- The second segment of Canada goose hunting season will begin Saturday, Oct. 9 and continue through Oct. 20 in all of Tennessee, with the exception of the Northwest Canada Goose Zone.
 
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency reminds sportsmen that the daily bag limit is two Canada geese. Hunting hours are one-half hour before sunrise to sunset. Shotguns must be plugged to hold no more than three shells. Nontoxic shot is required for waterfowl hunting.
 
Following the second segment additional Canada goose hunting opportunities will be from Nov. 27-28 and from Dec. 4-Jan. 30, 2011 in the Statewide Canada Goose Zone. The Northwest Canada Goose Zone season will run from Dec. 4-Feb. 13, 2011. The Northwest Canada Goose Zone consists of Lake, Obion, Weakley and portions of Dyer and Gibson counties.
