Robertson County Health Department Receives $50,000 in Federal WIC Funds

SPRINGFIELD − Tennessee Health Commissioner Susan R. Cooper, MSN, RN, will join other state and local officials on Friday, November 5, to present $50,000 in federal funding from the United States Department of Agriculture for the Women, Infants and Children Special Supplemental Nutrition Program to the Robertson County Health Department.

The funding will be used for renovations to the Robertson County Health Department clinic in Springfield to improve services to WIC clients. The Robertson County Health Department has provided services to nearly 3,000 WIC participants over the past year, resulting in more than $1.2 million in vouchers redeemed in the county.

The renovations will include repairs to the clinic facility, reconfiguring the reception area to improve access and patient flow, and new flooring and furniture.
