Embankment Slide Repairs to be Finished on State Route 116 in Anderson County

Friday, December 10, 2010 | 09:30am
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – All lanes on State Route 116 near the Anderson and Campbell County line will re-open by 5:00 p.m. this afternoon.

On November 30, Tennessee Department of Transportation crews closed the northbound lane of State Route 116 after approximately 150 feet of roadway was washed away. Flaggers directed traffic around the lane closure around the clock during the closure. Meanwhile, TDOT crews quickly rebuilt the embankment eroded by rising creek levels due to drenching rains.

Motorists are advised to continue to monitor the TDOT website at www.tn.gov/tdot for other lane closures. TDOT is also on Twitter. For up to the minute traffic information in Knoxville and the Tri-Cities follow us on Twitter at www.twitter.com/knoxville511. For statewide travel information follow www.twitter.com/TN511.
