Section of State Route 50 in Hickman County to Close for Repairs

Friday, December 10, 2010 | 10:14am
NASHVILLE – Beginning Monday, December 13, 2010, a section of State Route 50 in Hickman County will close for several days as crews repair damage that occurred during the May floods.  Heavy rains during the flood event caused a large drainage pipe beneath the road to collapse. Due to the depth of the pipe, a section of the road will be removed and reconstructed.

During the closure, traffic will be detoured around the work zone, which is located along State Route 50 between the Old Highway 50 Loop and State Route 438. Through traffic will be diverted to State Route 13 or State Route 48. Message boards will be placed throughout the area to alert motorists of the closure. The roadway is expected to be reopened prior to the busy holiday travel period.
