Tennessee Agricultural Hall of Fame Board to Meet

NASHVILLE - The Tennessee Agricultural Hall of Fame Board will meet Jan. 6, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. CST in the Moss Administration Building at Ellington Agricultural Center, located at 440 Hogan Road in Nashville. The meeting was originally scheduled for Dec. 16 but had to be rescheduled due to inclement weather.  



The board will consider the nomination of former Congressman Ed Jones for induction into the Hall of Fame, which is housed at the Tennessee Agricultural Museum in Nashville. The board was established in 1937 by the legislature for the purpose of honoring outstanding Tennesseans who have "rendered distinguished service in the science and art of agriculture."

The board consists of nine members including the Commissioner of Agriculture, Chancellor of the UT Institute of Agriculture, Dean of UT Extension, State FFA Advisor, Farm Bureau President, State Master of the Grange and three appointed members.
