Work is complete.

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Department of Transportation crews will close two interchange ramps on Interstate 440 in Nashville this weekend as a major concrete repair project continues. The closures are as follows:

Ramp from I-440 West to Interstate 65 South
Ramp from Interstate 65 North to I-440 West

The ramps will close beginning at 4:00 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010 and will reopen no later than 6:00 a.m. Monday, March 22, 2010.

TDOT will use its many overhead message boards and several portable message boards to alert motorists of the closures. In addition, information on the closures will be broadcast on the TDOT SmartWay Highway Advisory Radio station (1680 AM) and on 511.

Since the I-440 Concrete Rehabilitation Project began in August 2009, contract crews have replaced more than 20,000 square yards of deteriorating concrete along the roadway. Once the concrete repairs are complete, crews will continue grinding the surface of the roadway and will apply new pavement striping. The project, which is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, is estimated to be complete by May 2010.
