Weekly Construction Report for Middle Tennessee, March 4, through March 10, 2010

DAVIDSON COUNTY, I-40 and Robertson Road Interchange:(Recovery Act Project)
       Thursday March 4 through Monday March 15, The right turn lane on Urbandale Avenue to go north on Briley Parkway will be closed for bridge work. 
       Friday March 5, 12 Noon through Sunday March 7, 7PM, The I-40 westbound on ramp at 46th Ave. will be closed for beam storage.
       Saturday March 6, 6AM thru Sunday March 7, 7PM, Urbandale Avenue will be closed from Briley Parkway to Morrow Road. In order to set beams. Local traffic only will be allowed. 
       Saturday March 6, 6AM-7PM, The middle lane on Robertson Road will be closed to work on the bridge diaphragm.
 
DAVIDSON COUNTY, I-440 Concrete Rehabilitation:(Recovery Act Project)
       Thursday March 4 through Wednesday March 10, 8PM-6AM, There will be alternating lane closures on I-440 eastbound and westbound in order to grind the roadway and clean the joints.
       Friday March 5, 8PM through Monday March 8, 6AM, The I-65 northbound and southbound ramps to I-440 westbound will be closed to perform concrete repairs of damaged areas.
 
DAVIDSON COUNTY, I-65 at the junction with SR 12 (Rosa Parks Blvd.)
       Saturday March 6 and Sunday March 7, 6AM-6PM, There will be one lane closed in each direction on Rosa Parks Blvd. in order to remove the median and gore areas. One lane will remain open in each direction.
 
DAVIDSON COUNTY, Bridge Repair on New Hope Rd. over I-40
       Thursday March 4 through Wednesday March 10, 8PM-5AM,(excluding weekends), There will be alternating lane closures on I-40 (MM 221.8) at New Hope Rd. in order to remove the overhang from the bridge. One lane will remain open.
 
DAVIDSON and WILLIAMSON COUNTIES, ITS Phase III:
       Thursday March 4 through Wednesday March 10, 9AM-3PM and 7PM-6AM, There will be periodic day and night time shoulder closures at various locations within the areas listed below in order to install devices, perform electrical work, and pole installation.
o    Briley Pkwy, both directions, between I-40 and Centennial Blvd (MM 6 to MM 27)
o    I-24, both directions, between Old Hickory Blvd and Bell Rd (MM 40 to MM 61)
o    I-40, both directions, between US 70 and Old Hickory Blvd (MM 196 to MM 222)
o    I-65, both directions, between Concord Rd and Long Hollow Pkwy (MM 70 to MM 97)
o    I-440, both directions, between Hillsboro Pike and I-24 (MM 3 to MM 7)
o    Ellington Pkwy, both directions, between Briley Pkwy and Spring St
o    Vietnam Veterans, both directions, between I-65 and New Shackle Island (MM 0 to MM 5)
       Thursday March 4 through Wednesday March 10, 8PM-5AM, There will be periodic short term night time lane closures at the following locations to install device foundations, DMS foundation installation, and shoulder paving.
o    Briley Pkwy, both directions, between Elm Hill Pike and Brick Church Pike, (MM 7 to MM 27), 2-3 lanes remain open (multiple locations for structures and fiber).
o    I-40, both directions, between the I-24 Interchange and Old Hickory Blvd (MM 213 to MM 222), 3 lanes remain open (multiple locations for foundation installation).
o    I-40, Westbound, between US70S and east of Charlotte Pike (MM 196 to MM 203), 2 lanes remain open. (multiple locations for foundation installation).
o    I-65, both directions, between Concord Rd and the I-440 Interchange (MM 71 to MM 80), 2-3 lanes remain open (multiple locations for foundation installation).
o    I-65, both directions, North of Concord Rd (MM 73)
·         Friday at 8pm to Monday at 6am, one left lane closed in both directions to install median foundation, 3 lanes remain open.
o    I-65, both directions, between Old Hickory Blvd and Harding Place (MM 76)
·         Thursday March 4 and Friday March 5, double left lane closures in both directions to remove portable barrier rail, 2 lanes remain open.
o    I-24, both directions, between the I-440 Interchange and Old Hickory Blvd (MM 52 to MM 62), 2-3 lanes remain open (multiple locations for foundation installation.)
o    Vietnam Veterans, both directions, between I-65 and New Shackle Island (MM 0 to MM 5), 1 lane to remain open (multiple locations for foundation installation.)
o    Vietnam Veterans, both directions, between Conference Dr and Center Point Rd (MM 1 to MM 2)
·         Thursday March 4 and Friday March 5, single left lane closures in both directions to install portable barrier rail, 1 lane remain open.
o    Vietnam Veterans, both directions, between Conference Dr and Center Point Rd (MM 1 to MM 2)
·         Friday at 8pm to Monday at 6am, one left lane closed in both directions to install median foundation, 1 lane remain open.
 
DAVIDSON & WILLIAMSON COUNTIES, Bridge Construction on Hillsboro Rd. (SR 106)
       Thursday March 4, 9AM-3PM, There will be alternating lane closures on Hillsboro Rd. just south of Old Hickory Blvd. in order to set beams. One lane will remain open.
 
REGION 3 Installation of Cable Barrier:
       Thursday March 4 through Wednesday March 10, 7PM-6AM, There will be one lane closed on I-40 eastbound and westbound in Wilson County from MM 235 to MM 250 in order to install cable barrier. One lane will remain open.
 
REGION 3 On-Call Guardrail:
       Thursday March 4 through Tuesday March 9, 8PM-6AM, (each night), There will be one lane closures at various locations on interstates and state routes in Davidson, Rutherford, Cheatham, Robertson, and Montgomery Counties for guardrail repair and installation.
       Monday March 8 through Wednesday March 10, 8PM-6AM, There will be one lane closed on I-40 eastbound and westbound from MM 208.8 to MM 209.0 in order to texture coat median barrier wall. Two lanes will remain open in each direction.
 
REGION 3 Safety Improvements on Various State Routes:
       Thursday March 4 through Wednesday March 10, 8AM-5PM,   There will be various rolling closures in Robertson, Davidson, Lawrence, Lincoln, Montgomery, Sumner, Houston, and Maury Counties on State Routes in order to retrace pavement marking.
       Thursday March 4 through Wednesday March 10, 7AM-5PM, There will be various one lane closures on SR 6 in Sumner County in order to install guardrail.
 
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Bridge Construction on SR 13 (Wilma Rudolph) over the Red River
       Thursday March 4 through Wednesday March 10, 9AM-3PM, (excluding Sunday), There will be alternating lane closures on Wilma Rudolph Blvd. (SR 13) southbound over the Red River in order to install barrier rail and prepare for a traffic shift.
 
SUMNER COUNTY, Bridge repair of two bridges on I-65 over U.S. 31W & on US 31W over US 41
       Saturday March 6, 6AM through Monday March 8, 5AM, SR 41 (Springfield Hwy) will be reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge repair.
 
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Concord Rd. from Sunset Rd. to Edmondson Pike
       Thursday March 4 through Wednesday March 10, 9AM-3PM, There will be alternating lane closures from Crockett Rd. to Sunset Rd. in order to place base stone and install storm drain. Trucks will be entering and leaving the roadway. Flaggers will be utilized for these operations.
 
 
 
 
WILSON COUNTY, SR-171 (Mt Juliet Road) Widening:(Recovery Act Project)
       Thursday March 4 through Wednesday March 10, 9AM–3PM, There will be temporary lane closures Mt. Juliet Road (SR-171) northbound and southbound, from Division Street to Lebanon Road, for the purpose of performing storm sewer installation and excavation work.
 
WILSON COUNTY, SR 109 widening from I-40 to SR 24
       Thursday February 18 through Wednesday February 24: No closures scheduled.
 
DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:
Davidson County
       Thursday March 4 through Wednesday March 10, 9AM-3PM, (excluding weekends), There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Davidson County in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.
       Thursday March 4 through Wednesday March 10, 9AM-3PM, (excluding weekends), There will be mobile operations in various locations in Davidson County for vegetation control. This will affect the shoulders or outside lanes.
       Thursday March 4 through Wednesday March 10, 9AM-3PM, (excluding weekends), There will be alternating lane closures on State Route 155 (Briley Parkway) over I-65 in both directions for bridge repair.
       Thursday March 4 through Wednesday March 10, 9AM-3PM, There will be alternating shoulder closures on State Route 386 (Hendersonville By-pass) for clearing the rock bluffs.
Rutherford County
       Monday March 8 through Friday March 12, 7PM–6AM, There will be moving lane closures on SR 266 East, inside City of Smyrna, Sam Ridley Parkway, from the 2.0 - 3.0 mile marker for installing overhead fiber optics lines. 
Dickson County, Hickman, & Humphreys Counties
       Thursday March 4 through Wednesday March 10, 9AM-3PM, There will be possible lane closures at various locations on I-40 in Dickson County, Hickman, and Humphreys Counties in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.
Montgomery County
       Thursday March 4 through Wednesday March 10, 9AM-3PM, There will be possible lane closures at various locations on I-24 both directions between MM 14.0 and MM 16.0 in order to patch potholes.
Giles County
      Thursday March 4, 9AM-3PM, There will be possible lane closures at various locations on I-65 both directions between MM 18.0 and MM 22.0 in order to patch potholes.
 
TDOT Utilities
       Sunday March 7, 7AM-9AM, On I-24 at exit 80 New Salem Road/Hwy99, Rutherford County. This request, by Urban Cable Construction, is for adding a strand and fiber optic cable crossing over I-24. Two rolling stop blocks are expected and police cars will be present.
      Monday March 8 through Friday March 12,9AM-3PM, There will be one lane closed onSR-254 (Old Hickory Blvd.) westbound, Davidson Co. starting at Franklin Pike Circle and ending at S. Hillview Dr. This request, from TW Telecom Inc. is for adding a strand and fiber optic cable on existing utility poles.
 
Motorists are encouraged to use caution and obey reduced speed limits in all TDOT work zones, regardless of lane closure activity.
