Thursday, April 01, 2010 | 07:19am

The Tennessee Forestry Commission will meet April 13 at 8:30 a.m. CDT in the Bruer Building conference room at Ellington Agricultural Center, located at 440 Hogan Road in Nashville.

The commission will hear reports on State Forest certification, the State Forest Resource Assessment, hunting regulations and deer platform access, horseback riding on State Forests, the Division of Forestry budget and forestry related legislation.

The Division of Forestry produces millions of tree seedlings annually for conservation and reforestation projects and makes these available to landowners at low cost. The commission will also consider tree seedling prices charged to landowners for the 2011 fiscal year.

The meeting is open to the public. Individuals interested in addressing the commission should plan to arrive prior to the start of the meeting in order to be placed on the agenda.

The Tennessee Forestry Commission comprises seven members representing the public’s interests as it relates to forest resources in the state. The commission advises the Tennessee Department of Agriculture on forest resource issues and the Division of Forestry. For more information, contact the TDA Division of Forestry at 615-837-5520.
