New West Knoxville Driver Service Center to Open

New Center Expands Space for Customer Service Convenience
 
NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Department of Safety (TDOS) is opening a new Driver Service Center in Knoxville, Tennessee, and closing the West Knoxville location at 207 Center Park Drive in Knoxville. The new Driver Service Center will be located at 430 Montbrook Lane in Knoxville.
 
The current West Knoxville Driver Service Center will be closed Tuesday, May 4, 2010, and reopen for business at its new location on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at 7:00 a.m. EST.   Normal hours for the new facility remain Tuesday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. On the second Wednesday of each month, the facility opens one hour later due to a monthly staff meeting.
 
Customers may also utilize other nearby full-service Driver Service Centers in Knox, Anderson, Blount and Roane County. The Knox County Driver Service Center is located in Strawberry Plains at 7320 Region Lane in Knoxville. The facility is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST.

From Downtown Knoxville:
  • Take I-40 East toward Ashville, N.C. Take Exit 398, Strawberry Plains. At the end of the interstate ramp, turn right onto Strawberry Plains Pike. Once on Strawberry Plains Pike, immediately turn left onto Region Lane and go approximately 3/10s of a mile to the Driver Service Center. The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is located next door.
The Anderson County Driver Service Center is located at 704 North Charles G. Seviers Blvd. in Clinton. The facility is open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EST.

From Knoxville on I-75:
  • Take I-75 North and get off at exit 122, Clinton-Norris.   At the end of the Interstate ramp, turn left and go approximately 5 miles on North Charles G. Seviers Blvd. The Driver Service Center will be on your right.
From West Knoxville on I-40:
  • Take the Pellissippi Parkway (TN-162N) toward Oak Ridge for approximately 5.9 miles. Continue on the Oak Ridge Highway (TN-62 West) for 1.3 miles. Take the Ramp on Edgemoor Rd. (TN-170E) and go for 6.2 miles.   Turn left at Clinton Highway (TN9/US-25WN) and go 4.5 miles. Turn right onto North Charles G. Seviers Blvd and go approximately 1 mile. The Driver Service Center will be on your left.
The Blount County Driver Service Center is located at 318 Home Avenue in Maryville. The facility is open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EST.

From Interstate 40/Interstate 75 at Pellissippi Parkway (Exit 376) in West Knoxville
  • Take exit 376 onto I-140E toward Maryville for 11.3 miles. Take exit 11A to merge onto Alcoa Highway (TN-115S-US -129S) continue on Alcoa Highway for 5.9 miles Turn left at Foch Street and continue till it ends into Home Ave. Turn left onto Home Ave and Service Center will be on the right.
The Roane County Driver Service Center is located at 1070 North Gateway Avenue in Rockwood. The facility is open Tuesday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EST.

  • From I-40 in Knoxville: Take I-40 West toward Nashville. Take Exit 347 Harriman/Rockwood.      Turn Left onto Highway 27 going south. Go 5 miles and the Driver Service Center will be in the second shopping center on the left.
  • From Highway 27 traveling north: When enteringRockwood, go to traffic light #8 and stay on Highway 27 going to the left. The Driver Service Center will be on the right a quarter mile after the traffic light.
  • From Highway 27 traveling south: The Driver Service Center is located 5 miles past the Interstate in the second shopping center on the left.
Customers only needing a duplicate license or to renew their non-commercial driver license or identification license can obtain these services at the Knox County Clerk Offices throughout Knox County. Knox County Clerk Office locations include:
  • 1028 Old Cedar Bluff Road in West Knoxville, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • 2364 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. (Five Points Village Plaza) 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • 3001 North Mall Road, Suite 1291 Knox Center (East Towne Mall) 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • 300 W. Main Street, Room 229 (Old County Courthouse, Downtown) 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
